Our Mission
It Takes A Village is a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting early childhood in San Francisco Bay Area in order to provide equitable opportunities for all children to learn, grow and thrive.
Our Story
2020 - Now
ITAV started at the beginning of the pandemic to meet the serious lack of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). In a few short weeks, our grass-roots organization grew to sew fabric face masks, make face shields, and refurbish N95s. From its inception, ITAV focused on the needs of medically underserved populations by donating PPE to safety net hospitals, community health centers, and family and homeless shelters. By the end of the pandemic, ITAV donated over 260,000 masks, over 52,000 face shields, over 289,000 gloves, and 2,000 gallons of hand sanitizer.
The organization is now taking advantage of its connections with local SF Bay Area nonprofits and its network of dedicated volunteers to support early childhood.
